Well I don't know about the rest of you, but I have had about enough of the thunder, lightning, rain and power outages!  I don't think I have ever seen this much rain since I moved to the prairies back in 1981.  Wow, am I getting old....or sounding old, lol.  Anyway, tonight, in between rain showers, I got to shoot grad photos for my nephew Matt.  I can't believe he's graduating already.  It seems like just yesterday he was just a little gaffer that always had a wet mark on his t-shirts cause he would chew on the collar, lol.  Sorry Matt, but that's what I remember and I have a lot of photos of you like that.  Thankfully it stopped raining for a bit so we could get your pix done tonight and you showed up in a very styling tux.....without the chewed on collar, ha ha.
Matt had my lovely neighbor Trisha as his escort and she's always up for a photo shoot.  They are both so photogenique that it made my job pretty easy.  Congrats on your graduation Matt.  Your whole family is very proud of you.  Hugs. :)

Well you are bound to see lots of umbrella's in this session as it seems these days we can't have a day without rain.  But this family totally rolled with the punches. Even when it started to absolutely pour during the family photo.  Solution, just grab some umbrellas and keep on going, lol.  It was great.  It was so much fun to shoot these photos as well since I have known these two since they were pretty little.  I knew they would be "styling" as they always are and they did not disappoint that's for sure.  So anyway, there's a real mish mosh of shots here, including some goofy candids, but I just couldn't help myself.  Thanks again Leniczek family for being so great to work with.  Have a wonderful graduation!!  Here's just a small sample from today's session.  Hope you enjoy it!

Last night the Kohlert Family made the trek out to my farm for their family photos.  I was glad that it all worked out and that all the kids could be there, including Nikki and Scott coming in from Ottawa.  Thanks so much for being so great to work with.  The kids were adorable and sure well behaved.  It was nice to do some big group shots but also celebrate some anniversaries with some couples shots.  Thanks again everyone.

It's been an incredibly heart breaking week for many people in the Melville area with the recent loss of Jason Haas.  Jason grew up on the farm near Killaly and he and my oldest son Dalton played hockey together.  I've known his family for a long time and they truly are such wonderful people.  Jason was involved in a car accident along with 8 other children, many of who are still in the hospital recovering. Just thinking about it brings me to tears again.  I can only imagine how all the friends and family members are doing.  I am posting a few images from the Haas Family photos that I did this past summer.  I just want to say that my heart goes out to Ken, Val, Randy, Danita and Tyler as well as everyone touched by this accident. You are all in my thoughts and my prayers.  It is a constant reminder to tell our family and friends how much we love them and to live each day like it could be our last.  If you care to leave comments for anyone involved, please feel free to do so.  I'm sure your kind words can only be of comfort to everyone.
Rest In Peace Jason.  We will never forget you.

I first met Jeff and Kristin a few years back when I shot their wedding.  So when Kristin contacted me about doing family photos now that they have a little one, I was so excited.  I had good reason.  They were such a fun couple to work with on their wedding and that hasn't changed.  Plus, Chase is the most adorable and well behaved one year old.  He was so easy to work with and he just wraps you around his little finger when he looks up at you with those big brown eyes.  He is such a sweet little monkey.  No wonder that's his nickname.  Anyway, enjoy a few snaps from their session.

The Heidt's are definitely huge Rider fans.  We played football for some of their wedding photos so I was not surprised when they arrived with their own Rider jersey's.  Go Riders!!

Well this is a bit different but I am actually going to post some photos taken of me instead of taken by me, lol.  This winter, Rory and I were very lucky to travel to Honolulu, Hawaii for vacation.  Before we left, I did a bit of research and found an amazing photographer there named Christie Pham.  I loved her style so booked a session for the two of us.  You know how the mechanic drives the broken down car.....well, the photographer has no photos of herself, lol.
Anyway, I am so glad that we did this.  We spent a great afternoon with Christie and her boyfriend/assistant Matt and made some wonderful new friends.  On top of it, we got some amazing photos that we can hang on to forever.  Its funny how even a photographer can forget the importance of documenting our lives and the wonderful people in them.  I am attaching a few of my favorite images from the day.  I hope you enjoy them :)
Sorry for the size of them but that's all I have right now.  The full res images will be a bit yet but was too excited to not share them right away.
