This past weekend I had the privilege of shooting Jay & Sandra's wedding.  This was my second wedding of the weekend.  I have worked with Jay & Sandra before when I shot their engagement photos last fall.  One thing that I can tell you about them and their families is that they are truly genuine people.  Everyone was so nice and fun to work with.  I truly wish you guys every happiness in life.  Here are just a few images from your day.  Enjoy.

IMG_2884.jpgThis first shot is of Sandra's beautiful dress.  It's extra amazing as the seamstress had to take it in "10 inches"!!  I don't know how she did it but Sandra lost quite a bit of weight before her wedding day.  She was gorgeous before that and still gorgeous afterwards.  In the front of the dress is a red bench built by Sandra's dad.  Every time I have been to their place, there was always a new pile of lumber and another project on the go.  He's super talented.  I will be emailing you soon Ken to put in my order.

IMG_2886.jpgThe bride enjoying some pampering!  She always has the sweetest smile on her face.
IMG_2857.jpgHere are a few different ring shots.  Couldn't make up my mind so I am posting quite a few.

IMG_2863.jpgThis was the lid for the bottle that they were using for their sand ceremony.  I thought it had such a cool shape.  Looks like one of those "crazy hat" shaped cakes.

IMG_2899.jpgThanks to bridesmaid "Janelle" for being the steady hand that helped out with this shot.  This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've worked with Janelle and you can always count on her to lend a helping hand.

IMG_2922.jpgI hung Sandra's earrings and bracelet on this beautiful antique piece that I found in the china cabinet.  It belonged to Sandra's Grama.  I thought it had such a great vintage feel to it and I always love to incorporate meaningful things into the images.
IMG_2898.jpgSandra and her girls had the greatest shoes. All coordinating.  You know I love a great shoe shot.
IMG_2989.jpgI was teasing the little flower girl that she had a "pussy cat smile".  Isn't she just adorable.  She is going to be so beautiful when she is older.  Seriously, look at those eyes and the Angelina Jolie lips.  Gorgeous.  Sandra was actually the flower girl for this little one's mom and dad, so the tradition continues.

IMG_3059.jpgSandra and Jay were so happy to get married.  They always had a smile on their faces.  I was so sure that Ken & Lori were going to be crying and then of coarse you know what would happen to me.  But, they said watching how happy Jay & Sandra were just made them happy.  I told you.  Super sweet people.

IMG_3072.jpg
Gorgeous.

IMG_3078.jpgI wanted to get a shot of the containers for the sand ceremony.  If you have been in the Chapel on the RCMP grounds, you know how dark it is in there and how warm it can get.  But its truly beautiful.  The back doors were left open to create a breeze and I love the flare in this image with Jay and Sandra praying in the background.

IMG_3103.jpg
Happy!

IMG_3109.jpg
The Kiss!

IMG_3183.jpgMr & Mrs Malbeuf, happily rushing down the aisle.

IMG_3240.jpg
The bubbles send off.

IMG_3337.jpgI am a sucker for a father daughter photo.  It just makes me miss my dad even more.
IMG_3358.jpgThe amazing wedding party.  Thanks to everyone for being so helpful.

IMG_3366.jpgThis next shot I have put in for a reason.  Anyone that knows Sandra, knows that she is terrified of birds.  It seems they realize that and always make an appearance.  They did for her engagement photos and now again on her wedding day.  She didn't know this seagull was swooping down till after the shot, lol.
IMG_3381.jpg

IMG_3421-copy.jpgHow cute are these two?  Seriously.

IMG_3441.jpg
Next, the girls, in all their fabulousness!!

IMG_3532.jpgAnd next a little ZZ Top.  She's got legs....and she knows how to use them.

IMG_3510.jpg
IMG_3552.jpgAnd now the guys.

IMG_3594.jpg
Another shot of the wedding party.

IMG_3702.jpg
IMG_3672.jpg
Soooo pretty.

IMG_3691.jpg
Soooo pretty X 2!!

IMG_3732.jpgThese next few images are of the younger members of the bridal party.  The looked so good and were the best behaved kids.  We almost forgot that they were there.  Almost, lol.

IMG_3735.jpg
IMG_3793.jpgThis last shot is of the bridal party and their very sweet rides.  Thanks again for being so great to work with everyone!  A special thanks to the men for lugging my things around and helping me get up some hills that I wouldn't have done without them.  Not in heals anyway, lol.

I have been waiting since last fall to shoot this wedding after I met Dustin & Ashley at their engagement session.  I knew some of their family members already so I knew it would be a great wedding.  I was right.  The day started out at the Frick farm where the girls got ready.  Then off to Melville for the ceremony and then finally off to Grayson for the best wedding reception ever.  The Kuntz family, along with what seems to be the whole town of Grayson, is very musical & very talented.  Dustin himself has played in a couple of rock bands.  So, this wedding reception was ot going to be like any other.  That was made clear the second you walked in.  Their MC, aka Uncle Paul, made sure of that.  It was a shock to everyone, including the newly married couple.  Paul was like an act in Vegas.  He could definitely give Letterman a run for his money.  He definitely missed his calling in life.  Anyway, the entire wedding day was an absolute blast.  Thanks again Dustin & Ashley for allowing me to come along for the ride.  Its going to be so tough to decide which images to post for your blog.  Here are just a few.
IMG_9037.jpg'Flowers on Main' in Melville did such a great job of Ashley's flowers.  They were so bright, fresh & had a real country feel to them.  They set the tone for the whole day & just made me smile.
IMG_9041.jpgI am having a hard time selecting which ring shot to post so I am going to post a bunch.  Sorry :)
IMG_9050.jpgYou might have a hard time figuring out this next shot.  Well, its the rings in front of this fabulous putter that Ashley bought Dustin as a wedding gift.  I just had to incorporate it some where in the photos for him.
IMG_9064.jpgThis next image is Dustin's gift to Ashley.  A beautiful diamond necklace to go with her earrings.  You are a lucky girl!
IMG_9103.jpgBefore Ashley's mom & dad got married, Grace went to Paris (if I am remembering the story correctly) & she brought home this beautiful lace garter to wear for her own weddng.  She didn't toss it however and saved it for her own daughter to wear & that's exactly what Ashley did, along with the pearls that her dad gave her mom on their wedding day.  Such meaningful gestures.
IMG_9113.jpgYou know I love a good shoe shot!
IMG_9025.jpgBridesmaids gettin gorgeous!!!
IMG_9095.jpgAshley definitely looked stunning in her Enzoani Gown from "Blue" in Saskatoon.

IMG_9166.jpgA couple of last shots with Mom & Dad before their daughter became a married woman.  I think mom was definitely holding back the tears.
IMG_9177.jpg
IMG_9188.jpgOkay, I am totally in love with these next three images.  I love "real" moments & I love the look in Ashley & Dustin's eyes when they see each other for the first time.  I also love the look Dustin has right before he kisses her.  I love to capture those great moments!!

Now on to the bride & groom.  There really were so many to pick from that I know I won't be able to decide so you will just have to look at them all.

IMG_0037.jpgA few more shots of the guys rockin it out on the Route 605 Bus.  A very sweet ride, I must say.
IMG_0097.jpg
IMG_0059.jpgNow to wrap up with a few shots from the reception.  Again, too many to choose from so here's just a few.
IMG_0202.jpgThe MC (aka Uncle Paul).  This guy is so incredibly talented and was on fire!
IMG_0286.jpgWhen they pulled out an electric guitar & amp and said that the only way to make the bride & groom kiss was to sing & play a rock song, well I thought they would never kiss.  Boy was I wrong.  Like I said, the town is filled with amazing talent.  Here's a couple of images of them rockin it out!!
IMG_0325.jpgNext it was the grooms turn to rock it out to the bride, which I believe scored them some ACDC tickets.  Hey, no one asked me to sing for some ACDC tickets.  I would have tried.  Oh yeah, that might have emptied the reception hall in a hurry.  Oh well, lol.
IMG_0524.jpgAnd finally one last image from the reception.  I absolutely love the expressions on their faces.

A few weeks ago I decided that I was going to hire an assistant to help with some book work and tag along to the occasional wedding.  That's when I thought of this great young girl who basically my neighbor and definitely loves the photography world.  She swooped in and caught up all of my book work in no time flat so this past weekend I asked her if she wanted to help me at a wedding.  She jumped at the chance even though she was pretty sure she'd just be lugging equipment, holding reflectors and basically being my gopher, lol.  Well, much to her surprise, right before the ceremony was about to begin, I handed her a camera and said "lets see what you get".  She was a bit nervous but jumped right in and did a great job for me all day.  Especially since I literally gave her a 30 second talk about how to use the camera.  So it was definitely sink or swim and she absolutely swam with the fishes all day.  She did awesome, so I decided that before I post the wedding blog, I will post a few that she took on her own.  I helped a little with the Photoshop but they are her shots and for the first time with a camera in her hands, I thought she did wonderfully.  Here they are Niki.  Great Job!!!

IMG_9495.jpg
This first image is obviously Niki hard at work.  I don't look quite that good, lol, but I do have about 30 years on her too.

IMG_9362.jpgThis was basically the only shot I asked her to try to get and she did.  I think it was the first or second shot that she took.  Good job Nik!

IMG_9404.jpgNiki captured this great candid shots of the guys as I was posing them.

IMG_9515.jpg

And  finally Niki caught this great silouette of the bride outside the reception hall.  Again, great job Nik!  You rock!

This past weekend I went to Manitoba to shoot Pam & Chad's wedding.  It was in Swan River which is such a pretty town with lots of great places to shoot.  Pam & Chad's families were so awesine and so was the wedding party.  Thank goodness, as it was a bigger one.   There were some definite touching moments and lots of laughs along the way.  Thanks everyone for being so easy to work with and for all your help lugging those important things like ladders and back up cameras, right Kenny, lol.  Here's a few fav's from the day.
Their beautiful little girl Emily and the teeniest little tiara.  It was so adorable.

IMG_7462.jpgHere was one of those touching moments.  When Pam was in the middle of hair and makeup, flowers with a beautiful note arrived from Chad.  I don't think there was a dry eye in the house.

IMG_7479.jpg
Are you kidding me?  How gorgeous is the bride!?!

IMG_7529.jpgI love those moments right after they are pronounced husband and wife.  Introducing the happy family!

IMG_7681.jpg
The first place we went to take photos was at the Swan River Heritage Museum.  I could have actually stayed there all day.  Ton's of cool places.  But Pam ensured me we had an even more interesting location to go to, out by Bozeman.
IMG_7866.jpgCan you say "fierce", lol?  Right Pam?  You were amazing!

IMG_7895.jpg

IMG_7890b.jpgAnd not to leave out the groom....Chad was lookin pretty darn handsome himself!

IMG_7880.jpgI'm not sure how to narrow down the rest of the images.  We shot in some pretty cool locations including the canola field, some old barns and this amazing bridge.  Oh well, I guess I will just include them all.  Thanks again to everyone.  You were a blast!

IMG_8085.jpg

This next shot was the last one of the day and it was of the whole crew.  The wedding party was lucky enough to have Kenny and his wife drive them around all day in their big motor home.  Kenny was very helpful and a blast.  Thanks so much.  His wife, sorry I forgot your name, definitely classed up the joint by always drinking out of a wine glass....even if we were in the bush, lol.  Again, much thanks to you all!

Last weekend I had the true pleasure of meeting this super sweet couple as well as their families and friends.  This truly was a wonderful wedding.  The bride was very much into details and the whole wedding was fuscia and black.  Yet it amazed me how someone could be so organized and yet so laid back.  When things didn't go exactly to plan, they just changed the plan.  No problem. When the flower girl broke her leg not long before the wedding, of coarse it was sad but oh well we will just carry her around and use a wheel chair down the aisle.  No problem.  When the flowers got forgotten at the house and it was time for the ceremony, everyone just patiently waited for dad to run home and get them.  No problem.  Honestly they were such a great bunch. And even now, they have been patiently waiting for me to get their blog done with not a complaint.  No problem.  Like I said, super people.  So in this post you will see that the bride and groom were together in their home in the morning.  He just was not allowed to see the dress before hand.  You will see their adorable nieces.  One that finally learned to not be afraid of the family dog and one that I think was a bit happy to be carried around with her bad leg because then the dog couldn't get near her.  You will see some surprise ring photos, just for the groom who is a huge basketball fan.  And along with some stunning portraits, you will see a few just for fun.  I hope that you all enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed shooting it :)

Okay, I have a lot of photos to post from this weekends wedding with Kari and Tim but they will have to wait until tomorrow.  However, I just can't go to sleep tonight without posting one or two of my favorite photos of them.  Kari had so much style and the most amazing skin and Tim was a pretty handsome devil as well.  To sum it up, they were absolutely gorgeous.  Take a look at these images and I am sure you will agree!!
